Honda Civic (vehicle) Lenovo Laptop, HP Desktop (editing)\ Pro LED Lights Flashlights  RGB Lights 30-50mm Lens 70-300mm Lens Hard drive to store data as backup

Planning: Location

Planning : Additional Casting

Image
Since our music video requires 2 more actors we had to cast two more actors. Muzzamil Ali Armaghan Buhar

Planning: Casting

Image
Arsalan Buhar is a 24 year old graduate who will be acting as the main lead for our music video. With prior experience to acting, we think he will be a good addition to the project.

Planning : Initial Shot Ideas

We brainstormed and wrote our ideas down. We also wrote down all the shots we planned with each time frame and each lyric

Planning : Mood Board

Research: Montage Videos ( And how we will implement it into our music video)

Montage Video:  A video montage is  a series of short video clips sequenced together to tell a story. A typical montage video will consist of clips from a specific media product and clips of it synced with the music in the background and flashy transitions. These montage videos have become trendy these past few years because of how engaging it is throughout and we want to implement the same style into our music video. Here is an example of a Film Montage Video (FMV) Legends Never Die | Avengers: Endgame - YouTube Here is an example of an anime music video (AMV) Americano X Heads Will Roll Attack On Titan - YouTube  (Made by me)

Research: VFX scout

Today we scouted some VFX used in movies and videos which we could use and add to our final music video project. Here are some of them Soul Punch:  Hulk Meets Ancient One ►Avengers Endgame (2019) Movie CLIP HD | - YouTube  Disintegration:  Avengers Infinity War Moment After Thanos Snapped His Finger & Post Credit Scene HD!!! - YouTube AMV type transitioning and synced transitions: RASPUTIN levi edit - YouTube

Research : Video Style

Since there are a lot of different music video styles, me and my partner decided that we will stick to heavy VFX type music video. The style of the music video would be similar to how The Weeknd's own Music video looks but we will add more to that and integrate our style and his style to get a good mix of both.  We met in school to discuss this briefly and in a few days we will scout for some VFX to learn and try to add it to our music video.  So to sum it up: Our music video will have alot of VFX so most of the editing work will be on After Effects. The Genre is R&B so it will have a darkish tone to it which means most of the shooting will take place at night. There is no fixed storyline but we will try to show the main actor experiencing the affect of drugs he took and overall going crazy over some issue feeling trapped yet also free in the crowd of a city.

Research : Song

Image
The song me and my partner have chosen for our project is called " Blinding Lights ". "Blinding Lights" is a song by Canadian singer-songwriter the Weeknd. It was released on November 29, 2019, through XO and Republic Records, as the second single from his fourth studio album, After Hours (2020). The song was written and produced by the Weeknd, Max Martin and Oscar Holter, with Canadian musicians Belly and DaHeala receiving additional credits. "Blinding Lights" peaked at number one on the Canadian Hot 100, giving the Weeknd his fifth number-one hit on the chart. In the United States, the song topped the Hot 100 for four weeks, and went to become the song with most weeks spent in the top 5, top 10, top 20, top 40 and top 100 on the chart, as well as the first song to hold a spot in the top 10 on the chart for an entire year. It is also the longest charting song on the Hot 100 of all-time at 90 weeks, ending the week of September 11, 2021. The song finishe...

Research : Artist

Image
The Weeknd is the artist who's song we have chosen for our project. The Weeknd's real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye and he is Canadian Singer-Songwriter and producer. Known for his sonic versatility and dark lyricism, Tesfaye's music explores escapism, romance, and melancholia, and is often inspired by personal experiences. He has received numerous accolades, including three Grammy Awards, nineteen Billboard Music Awards, fifteen Juno Awards, six American Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and an Academy Award nomination.

Research : Song Genre

Image
R& B or Rhythm and Blues is the music genre which we have chosen for our media project. R & B is a genre of popular music that originated in African-American communities in the 1940s. The term was originally used by record companies to describe recordings marketed predominantly to urban African Americans, at a time when "urbane, rocking, jazz based music with a heavy, insistent beat" was becoming more popular. In the commercial rhythm and blues music typical of the 1950s through the 1970s, the bands usually consisted of piano, one or two guitars, bass, drums, one or more saxophones, and sometimes background vocalists. R&B lyrical themes often encapsulate the African-American experience of pain and the quest for freedom and joy, as well as triumphs and failures in terms of relationships, economics, and aspirations.
